Having clicked on the Search button, Seax will tell you how many results or ‘hits' it has found and display the first few lines of the catalogue description with 10 hits per page.
To view the full catalogue, click on the catalogue entry.
The display can be altered to show 20 or 50 hits per page by clicking on the arrow next to Hits per page at the top of the screen and clicking on either 20 or 50. The screen will automatically adjust to show the extra hits.
You can also change the order of the hits. Seax will automatically display the hits in relevance order, and the most relevant items found should be at the top of the list. You can change this to reference order or to date ascending or descending by clicking on the arrow next to Order by at the top of the screen and then clicking on the option that you prefer.
You can also change the display to show the full catalogue entry by clicking on the box next to Show Full Descriptions so that a tick appears.
At the bottom of the screen you can click on the First Page, Previous Page, Next Page and Last Page buttons to move on to another screen. You can also click on the arrow next to This page is and choose to move to another specified page in the order. This may be particularly useful if you have rearranged it into one of the date order options.
By clicking on the Change Search button you can go back to the previous screen and change the details so that you can refine or completely change the search you have made.
If you have logged on to Seax the Save Search button will also be shown. By clicking on this you can give your search a name and save it.
Click on the Retrieve button at the top of the screen and you can return to your saved searches at any time. You will be able to see the date that you saved the search and the number of items found. By clicking on Load you can make the same search of Seax. You can also remove any saved searches by clicking on Delete.
