Deeds of manor of Wakes Colne
Scope and Content:
Indenture between William Tiffyn of Colne Wake, Essex, gentleman, of the first part, John Harvy of Halsted, Essex, yeoman, of the second part, John Keble of Colne Wake, yeoman, of the third part, Richard Keames of Much Tey, yeoman, of the fourth part, and Thomas Jekyll, junior, of Halsted, gentleman, of the fifth part. It is agreed that Tiffyn, Harvy, Keble, and Keames shall make Fine to Jekyll of the Manor and Advowson of Colne Wake alias Wakes Colne, and Wakes mill there, and appurtenances there and in Earles Colne, Colne Engayne, and White Colne, Mt. Bures, Fordham, Pondsbright alias Chappell parish, Much Tey alias Tayne, and Little Tey alias Tayne, Essex, Jekyll to have freehold of the Manor, and Recovery to be thus: Westywood alias Westhewood and a messuage lately built in Colne Engayne, and 82 acres to Harvy, Heirs etc. for ever, 4 closes abutting on Pardon Valley, 11 acres, a meadow there, 2\'bd acres, Pardon Hill, and a Grove 12 acres, in Wakes Colne, to Keble, heirs etc. for ever. Fordbridge or Quarter Meadow alias Squatter Meadow \'bd acre, in Wakes Colne and Much Tey, to Keames, heirs etc. for ever, and the Manor and Advowson of Wakes Colne and Wakes Mill etc. to Tyffin, heirs etc. for ever.
