The album is possibly to be associated with the family of Col. F.C. Ord, son of Major-General Frederick Craven Ord (1825-1894) of Beverley Lodge, Lexden Road, Colchester. The Craven Ord family owned Greensted Hall between 1798 and 1837 (Victoria County History of Essex, volume 4 (Oxford University Press 1956), p. 60).
