Monumental inscriptions at the parish church of St. Mary the Virgin, Kelvedon. Survey November 2001.

Memorials in churchyard include those to Robert and Mary Lewis, died 1847 and 1848, erected by their 'affectionate son' Joseph Lewis, sergeant in 97th Regiment 'on his return from India after more than 20 years absence'; George Rennie, late of Bombay Horse Artillery, 1874; Lieutenant General Sir Edwin Henry Hayter Collen G.C.I.E., C.B., 1911; Gunner Vernon Frederick Gisby, M.M., Royal Field Artillery, killed at Combles, 1918; memorials to members of the Sheldrake family 'who fell asleep on Communion with the Holy Roman Church', 1911-1932; Sergeant James Inifer, stone erected by Brethren of Easterford Lodge of Freemasons, 1902; John Eley, parish clerk for 37 years 'The vicar under whom he officiated ... caused this stone to be erected as a grateful memorial of his constant attention to the duties of his office and as a record of esteem for his general character and conduct', 1841; Joseph Elliott, 50 years chorister and bellringer, 1912; David Elliott, 50 years a ringer, 1898; William Wiseman, principal of Kelvedon School for 37 years, 1874; Mrs Sarah Hicks 'For many years a faithful servant of the family of T.B. Western esq. of Felix Hall who placed this stone to her memory', 1857; James Tunmer 'For 40 years active Constable of this parish', 1869; Bezaleel Sherman, chirugeon and wife Anna, daughter of Sir Anthony Abdy of Felix Hall, died 1737 and 1738
