Scope and Content:
When it opened in 1913 Westborough School was divided into three departments, Infants, Senior Boys and Senior Girls. It was situated in Macdonald Avenue, Westcliff-on-Sea, until 1940 when the pupils were evacuated to Chapel en le Frith, Derbyshire
After the Second World War the school was derequisitioned and opened as an all-standard school until september 1945 when the senior departments became known as Westborough Senior Mixed School.
In 1953 Westborough High became a single-sex secondary modern school. The boys from Westborough transferred to Fairfax and Westborough received the Fairfax girls.
Westborough High School for Girls moved to Boston Avenue premises in 1966 and in 1987 amalgamated with Fairfax to form Prittlewell High School.
