Admin History:
In 1957 Southchurch Hall High School for Girls moved to the former premises of Southend High School for Girls in Boston Avenue (Prittlewell) and was renamed Dowsett High School for Girls. Ten years later new premises were built in Southchurch Boulevard (Southchurch) and Dowsett's move from Boston Avenue allowed Westborough High School for Girls to occupy the old site. In 1981 Dowsett High School for Girls amalgamated with Southchurch Hall High School for Boys to form Thorpe Bay High School (later Thorpe Bay School, from 2007 Futures Community College).
