Scope and Content:
Radio programme items created by Dennis Rookard, [1987]:
1) "Brentwood Nature Trail" - a report on a family fun walk organised by Brentwood District Council to publicise a new nature trail in Hartswood. Includes interviews with one of the organisers named Sally Anne and with local press photographer Peter Elgar (3 minutes 17 seconds).
2) "Frankie Howerd" - raw interview with comedian Frankie Howerd in which he discusses where he likes to spend his holidays (3 minutes 12 seconds).
3) "Phantom Hitch-Hikers" - interview with Michael Goss, author of a book called 'The Evidence for Phantom Hitch-Hikers" about a particular type of ghost (3 minutes 19 seconds).
4) "Tino Morena" - interview with Tino Morena, a barber in Brentwood who is also a composer of classical music. Includes examples of some of his compositions performed by the Boys Choir of the Cathedral of St Helen, Brentwood, and by Mavis Robson (soprano) (9 minutes 53 seconds) (listen to clip above).
5) "Greensted Church" - interview with Philip Spence, Rector of St Andrew's Church, Greensted, the oldest wooden church in Europe, about the history and architecture of the church, including a description of the newly made font [ends abruptly] (6 minutes 59 seconds).
