Scope and Content:
Presentments for Hundreds of Berstable, Chafford and Becontree. We present the highway from Dagnham to Romford lying with the liberty of Havering for not being sufficiently repaired according to the statute; John petipoole and John Adkingsone, both of barking for keeping each an alehouse there without licence by the space of two months last pant; Abraham ahanm weste for not scouring a ditch in Great Burstead which doth "anoy" the highway; thomas Kettele of Great Burstead for "crosing" the highway with three hedges; "Gresacker" More and Robert tyes both of Low Leyton for not coming to the church by the space of three months last past; thomas Kettel. sent of Great Burstead, John Puckal of Laindon for not making a bridge for for horse and carts to pass over, lying in Laindon and Great Burstead, in respect of their tenure of the lands called whittes in Laindon and Great Burstead; Henry Atsloe of Downham, gent., for not coming to church for six months last past, and Nicholas Ingram of Downham, yeoman, for not coming to the church for three months last past.
