Scope and Content:
Recordings made on location at various folk clubs around Essex and broadcast on Essex Radio's Essex Folk programme in October and November 1981: 1) Two guitar tunes performed by Nick Pynn and 2) three songs performed by Martin Fowles both at Brentwood Folk Club; 3) Southend Song by Chris Jones (listen above) and 4) Marconi by Dave Royal, both in the studio; 5) Mr. Cooper's Retirement by Jeff Lawrence and Ros Barber at Wivenhoe Folk Club; 6) The Human Cannonball by Roger Johnson at Blackmore; 7) two recitations by Eric Leach at Chelmsford Folk Club; 8) blank track; 9) Montague John and Sainsbury Rag by Ancient and Modern, 10) Saturday Suit by John Macnamara, 11) two guitar tunes, 12) Capstick Comes Home and Captain Pugwash and 13) The Dog That Fouls the Pavements Up In Harlow by Dave Everett, all from Bishops Stortford Folk Club.
