An obituary of Frederic Chancellor (1825-1918) by T.H. Curling appears in the Transactions of the Essex Archaeological Society, new series 15 (1921), pp. 85-90. At the time of his death Chancellor was the only surviving original member of the society. The obituary includes - besides a photograph of Chancellor in a domestic setting - a list by H.W. Lewer of his contributions to the Transactions.
