Title: 'Overpaid, Over Sexed, and Over Here'
A programme marking the fiftieth anniversary of the arrival of American servicemen in Essex during World War II. It tells the story of the American servicemen, the airfields they used, and the effect they had on the local communities. The programme features the reminiscences of both Americans and Essex residents. It also includes [after 44 minutes] recordings from some of the reunions and events which took place in Essex to mark the fiftieth anniversary.

The programme is presented by John Hayes. The script and programme research was by Eric Smith. The producer was Keith Roberts.
